Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin visited CJSC "BELJI," including the construction site for a stamping shop, BELTA reports.

This is the second working trip to the factory by the head of government this year. In April, the main topics were the results of the enterprise's work for 2025 and prospects for the development of domestic passenger car manufacturing. The visit to "BELJI" was also connected with discussing development plans, primarily the construction of its own stamping shop, which is scheduled to become operational at the end of 2027. This will allow increasing production volumes and boosting localization. Today's agenda includes an assessment of the work done and the factory's performance indicators.

As noted by Gennady Svidersky, director of CJSC "BELJI," over the time the factory has been operating, more than 400,000 vehicles have been produced, of which more than 100,000 have been sold in Belarus. "We are constantly engaged in renovation, modernization, and reconstruction. Last year we carried out the modernization of the painting shop. And if in 2018 the design capacity of our factory was 60,000 vehicles under a two-shift operation, now this capacity at the painting shop has doubled, meaning it is now 120,000. To achieve this, it was necessary to update the equipment; the most modern technology is now being used, and we have achieved increased productivity and energy savings. To balance these capacities, we also reconstructed the welding shop. In 2018, we had about 35 robots; after last year's reconstruction, there are already 70 — twice as many. Reconstruction does not stop here, and this year we began the construction of stamping production. Our country is a machine-building one, yet there is no automated stamping production for large-sized parts anywhere. That is why the idea arose to build such production," he said.

According to the director, in-house stamping will deliver a number of advantages. "Metal body parts are the most bulky components supplied as part of the knock-down kits. Once we build the stamping production, the number of containers needed for delivery here from China will decrease by 70%. We will stamp our own parts from metal right here. And to ensure these parts then reach the assembly line further down the process, we are simultaneously carrying out the reconstruction of the welding shop. If last year we increased the number of robots to 70, once the work on the stamping shop is completed, we will have 150 of them. The work began in June. Installation of metal structures is underway, and we are already starting to close in the roof. We plan to organize the construction work over September-October so that it becomes possible to work inside these premises. And in 2027, we plan to begin equipment installation in order to launch stamping production. This will, first, save on logistics, second, increase the degree of localization, and third, essentially completes the creation of a full-cycle plant. Beyond that, only domestic components will be needed, and everything else necessary will already be produced at this plant," emphasized Gennady Svidensky.

Over eight months of 2026, BELJI CJSC produced 73,673 vehicles worth 3,856.5 million rubles. A total of 42,147 vehicles worth $690 million were sold for export. On the domestic market — 32,916 units worth 1,930 million rubles.
