The price situation remains stable and is under government control, the press service of the Council of Ministers told BELTA.

First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snoopkov held another working meeting as part of a series of events with business on issues of saturating the domestic market and the price situation. Representatives of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART), the Ministry of Architecture and Construction, major building materials producers, importers, and trade organizations accounting for a major share of the consumer market for building materials, as well as automotive spare parts, took part in the dialogue. The key topic of the dialogue was the current dynamics of consumer prices in the conditions of the cancellation of price regulation, the market situation, and the analytical work of state bodies.

The meeting participants noted that the price situation remains stable and under control. There are no prerequisites for an increase in retail prices.

At the same time, trade networks and importers have been warned of the possible resumption of price regulation should signs of unjustified price growth appear or external pressure increase.

MART, together with the Ministry for Taxes and Duties (MNS), has been tasked with improving the price situation analysis system, including determining the causes and justification of retail price growth.
