Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko received a report from the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Vladimir Orlovsky, as reported by the BELTA correspondent.

"Customs is primarily about the budget. I am informed that this year, despite certain difficulties, you have even increased compared to last year's level — by almost 3.5%. That's good growth," said the head of state. "Nevertheless, I would like to hear what problems exist in this regard."

The remote registration service in the queue for border crossing is in high demand — State Customs Committee.

"The harsh economic attacks from the European Union countries, the West in general, have not ceased. There is a reorientation of cargo flows to the east. Whether it succeeds or not — what problems exist in this regard?" clarified the Belarusian leader.

As the Prime Minister and government inform the President, Belarus has generally succeeded in reorienting its cargo flows to the east. The head of state noted that one indication of this is the recent talks with the Americans. Earlier, Alexander Lukashenko announced the supply of Belarusian potash fertilizers to the United States. However, the Belarusian side cannot supply large volumes to the Americans because the produced goods have already been contracted for this year.

"Even if we wanted to ship (potash — BELTA note) somewhere else, to other Western markets, we simply don't have these volumes — everything is already contracted," reminded the Belarusian leader.

The head of the State Customs Committee reported to the President how cargo flows are being formed at the border under the current circumstances. "Currently, 85% of all Belarusian exports and imports for Belarusian enterprises are oriented toward the east. First and foremost, China and other Asian countries. Of course, and the Russian Federation," he noted.

Speaking about revenue inflows to the state budget, Vladimir Orlovsky pointed out that growth of almost 3.5% has been recorded over eight months. This month the growth indicator stands at 5.2%.
