The reconstruction of the former brewery buildings in Grodno will be completed this year, and next year the multifunctional complex will welcome its first visitors. This was told to journalists by the deputy director of MBA Investment LLC, Aleksandr Zaglobotski, as reported by BelTA.
Work on the renovation of the former brewery complex in Grodno has been underway for 6 years already. It is a historical and cultural heritage site. Initially it was categorized as a complex of the former brewery, but after the facades were cleaned, it became clear that part of it has a much older origin — these are the remains of the palace of the Oginski family that have been preserved. "Accordingly, a decision was made to restore this part along with the brewery structures. This complicated the work, essentially turning it into restoration work. Much was done by hand, retrieving what had been preserved literally brick by brick, so that after restoration it could be returned to its place. The process was overseen by specialists from the Ministry of Culture," noted Aleksandr Zaglobotski.
The first phase includes three separate buildings. On a total area of 6,300 square meters, there will be a business center, an interactive museum of the city of Grodno, art spaces in the enormous 17th-century cellars, 16 restaurants, and souvenir shops. Essentially, the entire complex can be considered to some extent a museum: all discovered artifacts are being restored and built into the interiors. Interest is being expressed by business representatives from Belarus, Russia, and Uzbekistan.
As part of the second phase, a hotel with 97 rooms and 240 beds — a 4-star hotel — will be built nearby. Construction will begin as early as October of this year.
