Savings of Belarusians in national currency are growing — National Bank

In July, the level of dollarization of the economy continued to decline. The share of the ruble component in the average broad money supply increased to 68.6% from 63.3% a year earlier.

There is observed accelerated growth in the ruble segment of money supply. The average ruble money supply increased by 29.5% year-over-year, the average broad money supply — by 19.5%.

There is sustained growth in household savings in the national currency. The average volume of term ruble deposits increased by 28% year-over-year, including individuals — by 40.3%.

Overall, as noted in the National Bank, Belarusians' savings activity in July remained at a high level. Term ruble deposits of citizens as of August 1 reached 18.4 billion rubles, increasing in July by 512.9 million rubles, or by 2.9%. Over seven months, these deposits grew by 3.2 billion rubles, or by 21.2% (during the same period in 2025, the growth was 2.2 billion rubles, or 20.3%).

The share of term ruble deposits in all term deposits of individuals as of August 1, 2026 reached 72.8% against 63% a year earlier.
