Since the beginning of the year, the country has registered a record number of electric cars — 20,053, excluding hybrids. These figures were shared by Sergey Khudoeshko, chairman of the Board of the Association for the Development of Electric Transport “BETA”, during a press conference. He also assessed the current situation in the Belarusian automotive market, presented statistical data, and analyzed the development of charging stations, reports the sb.by correspondent.

Sergey Khudoeshko noted that the total volume of the Belarusian automotive market for the first eight months of the current year amounted to more than 141,000 cars, with about 50,000 new passenger vehicles sold by official dealers — this interim figure is comparable to the full 2025 figures.

— Since the beginning of the year, a record number of electric cars — 20,053, excluding hybrids — have been registered. The record number of registrations in recent months is linked to expectations of the end of tariff concessions on the customs quota. Overall, the share of electric cars, including imported used vehicles, reached 14.2% of the total market volume, — the chairman informed.

The distribution of sold electric cars across segments yielded the following figures:

• official import — 46.8%
• domestic production — 27.1%
• alternative import — 26.1%

The top five leaders in electric car sales are as follows:

• Geely — 7,231
• Dongfeng — 5,882
• BYD — 3,067
• Deepal — 2,308
• Tesla — 2,127

The chairman of BETA highlighted a noticeable growth in the charging station network — 15% over the last six months: by September, the total number of stations across the country reached 2,428 (1,869 fast, 559 slow).

According to BETA Association forecasts, taking into account the positive dynamics, the overall automotive market by the end of the current year could reach 220,000 cars, of which about 100,000 would be new.
