From June 1, changes come into effect for Belarusbank regarding the servicing of bank payment cards
Editorial 125 April 27, 2026 9:53 What is changing?
Each client will be issued no more than one card of each type (including banking products, Clubs, Magnit, and Magnit installment cards), regardless of account currency and issuance form. Re-issuance of the same card earlier than 3 months before its expiration date is not provided.
The list of grounds for suspending or terminating card operations (including blocking) has been clarified — this will allow the bank to respond promptly to suspicious operations and better protect client funds.
The procedure for exemption from monthly (annual) card servicing fees has been clarified. When deciding on fee waiver, the volume of cashless payments at OTC made by a specific card or using its details will be taken into account.
The possibility of obtaining a Belkart-Premium card without a servicing fee upon presentation of a military ticket is being eliminated.
The procedure for confirming receipt of a card sent through RUP Belpochta has been updated. Receipt of the card in an undamaged envelope and absence of mechanical damage is confirmed by card activation in the manner provided by the Rules of Use.
Why is this being done?
The main changes are aimed at increasing the security of banking operations and reducing fraud risks. Many of the new measures will help detect and block questionable transactions faster.
Who will be affected?
Most clients will not notice significant changes in their daily card use. The restrictions are primarily aimed at combating abuse and dropper schemes.
