Sales of Belarusian pellets for January–August increased by almost a quarter compared with the same period last year. This was reported by Minister of Forestry Sergei Ul'dinovich in an interview with a BELTA correspondent.

In 2025, the volume of pellet sales increased 2.6 times compared with 2024. Over the eight months of this year, forestries sold 72.2 thousand tonnes of pellets on domestic and foreign markets, which is practically 25% more than in the same period last year. "Including, demand from the population grew 2.9 times. The capacities of operating productions are sufficient to meet demand," said the minister.

Initially, pellet production was focused on exporting the product—fuel pellets were in demand in European and Asian countries. However, sanctions imposed by European countries, including in the wood processing sector, prompted a review of sales approaches. Since 2022, the emphasis has been on developing domestic consumption of pellets. The country has adopted a set of measures to stimulate pellet consumption both by housing and communal services enterprises, the energy sector, and the population.
