The state administration discussed the largest machine‑building enterprises that shape the economy of the Mogilev region.

Every year on the last Sunday of September, Belarus celebrates the Day of the Mechanical Engineer (in 2026 – September 27).

In the Mogilev region, more than 21,000 people worked in the mechanical engineering sector in 2025, 75.9% of whom were men. The average age of employees was 40.1 years. Over 100 mechanical engineering organizations form the region’s economy. The largest among them are:

  • OAO “Mogilev Elevator Engineering Plant”
  • JSC “Osipovich Transport Engineering Plant”
  • OAO “Bobrusk Tractor Parts and Assemblies Plant”
  • SZAO “Mogilev Railway Car Building Plant”
  • OAO “Management Company of the Holding ‘Bobruskagromash’”
  • OAO “Osipovich Automobile Components Plant”
  • OAO “Zenit”
  • OAO “TAiM”
  • UCH NPP “Technolit”

Among those employed in mechanical engineering, 30.8% had higher education, 17.1% had secondary specialized, 42.5% had vocational‑technical, and 9.6% had secondary education, the Regional State Statistics Service reported. The nominal accrued average monthly salary of mechanical engineering workers in January–July 2026 was 2,553.6 rubles.

In 2025, within the production structure of the region’s mechanical engineering sector, 51.3% of output was for machines and equipment not included in other categories, 41.6% for vehicles and equipment, 6.9% for electrical equipment, and 0.2% for computing, electronic and optical apparatus.

Mechanical engineering enterprises specialize in producing elevators, freight railway cars and tank cars, tractor equipment and spare parts for it, soil‑working and harvesting machines, trailers and semi‑trailers for transporting goods used in agriculture, automotive parking systems, electric motors, and components for automotive and agricultural machinery.

In the first half of 2026, 52.7 million rubles were directed toward investments in mechanical engineering, or 59.4% in comparable prices compared to the first half of 2025. Mechanical engineering accounted for 6.6% of the volume of investments in fixed capital realized in industry.
