Tax authorities conducted an inspection of three individual entrepreneurs who were selling shoes at the "Laguna" market in Brest. Several violations were uncovered immediately, ranging from unrecorded revenue to workers without official employment.

According to the Ministry of Taxes and Duties, the entrepreneurs were selling sneakers and trainers — replicas of well-known global brands. At the same time, cash payments from buyers were not processed through cash register equipment. The total amount of such revenue exceeded 300,000 rubles.

Two of the sellers were found to have about 1,400 pairs of shoes without the required labeling, with a total value of over 150,000 rubles. In addition, inspectors found more than 1,700 pairs for which there were no documents confirming the legal acquisition of the goods.

Issues also emerged regarding employees. Two of the trading points had workers who were not officially hired. According to the tax authorities, their wages were paid in cash envelopes, and the total amount of such payments came to 38,000 rubles.

The entrepreneurs now face having to pay taxes and other charges on the previously hidden revenue. In addition, they are facing fines under several articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses at once. For example, accepting payments without a cash register carries a fine of up to 30 base units, while the absence of labeling or documents for goods carries a fine of up to 50% of their value. For violations related to unofficially employed workers, the fine can reach 200 base units, and the legislation also provides for the possibility of confiscation of income.
