Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) and Ganja Automobile Plant (GAZ) signed a major contract for the supply of 100 MAZ-6312C5 vehicle kits destined for Azerbaijan's Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. The agreement was signed by BELAVTOMAZ head Valery Ivankovich and GAZ Supervisory Board Chairman Khanlar Fatiev. Cooperation between MAZ and Ganja Automobile Plant has been flourishing since 2007, with approximately 4,000 MAZ units assembled in Azerbaijan over the years. Under a three-party agreement with POZHSNAB, the country also produces firefighting and municipal equipment with a high degree of localization. The new contract reinforces MAZ's strategic position in the South Caucasus market.
