Lithuania does not plan to ban bus services to Belarus. This was stated by the Minister of Transport and Communications, Yurys Taminskas.

The minister noted that Vilnius intends to assess the situation soberly. The head of the Lithuanian government clarified that such a step could be taken only for security reasons.

Meanwhile, Lithuanian intelligence has not received any information indicating the need to close the border.

Earlier in the Seimas, authorities were urged to follow Riga's example and completely ban regular bus transport to Belarus and Russia from 2027. However, the Lithuanian prime minister reminded that elections are coming in Latvia, so Riga may hear a variety of political proposals.
