During a state‑control inspection in the Gomel region, the committee discovered more than 300 tonnes of grain stored on an open site at the grain depot of one of the agricultural enterprises in the Rogachevsky district. The grain had been partially stored in puddles of water. Such conditions led to the formation of mold spots and the spoilage of the grain. Moreover, it was established that, at the director’s instruction and with the knowledge of the chief agronomist of the enterprise, 10 tonnes of a forage‑grain mix and 10 tonnes of grain residues—half of which consisted of grain that had become unfit due to untimely processing and improper storage—were taken to the field and scattered. The enterprise suffered damages amounting to more than 6,000 rubles. At the committee’s request, the grain stored at the depot was sent for processing and drying. The damages are being recovered from the responsible parties, and materials for legal assessment have been forwarded to the financial investigation authorities.
