Digitalization is becoming part of the everyday operations of the agro-industrial complex. A memorandum of cooperation with RUE "Beltelecom" was signed on September 2 at the Minsk Regional Executive Committee. The document is aimed at the further implementation and development of video surveillance systems at livestock facilities in the Minsk region.

In animal husbandry, video cameras make it possible to monitor the condition of livestock around the clock, ensure compliance with technological processes and labor discipline requirements. In addition, modern systems open up opportunities for the application of artificial intelligence technologies—for example, automatic analysis of what is happening at a facility and identification of non-standard situations.

"Video surveillance allows us to monitor the execution of technological processes and promptly respond to changes in the condition of livestock, which is especially important for improving the quality of animal husbandry products. Moreover, video control helps maintain labor discipline and effectively manage work processes. To date, 605 video surveillance systems have already been installed in the Minsk region, which is 78% of the systems planned for installation at livestock facilities. We will continue to install these systems in stages, which will significantly improve management and increase the productivity of the agro-industrial complex in the central region. I am confident that the signing of the memorandum of cooperation between the Minsk Regional Executive Committee and Beltelecom will be an important step toward intensifying our joint work and will open new horizons for introducing additional capabilities," noted the Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexey Kushnarenko.

In the central region, cattle are currently kept at 1,052 livestock facilities. Taking into account the planned construction of new dairy complexes and the closure of unused premises, it is planned to cover 771 facilities with video surveillance.

The main provider of video surveillance services in the region is Beltelecom: the company already supports the operation of systems at 368 facilities, or 61% of all livestock sites equipped with cameras. The remaining 166 facilities are planned to be connected in stages: 65 in 2026, 32 in 2027, 42 in 2028, and another 27 in 2029. At the same time, the task is not only to install cameras. A unified platform is being created in the region for centralized monitoring of systems from different providers under the technical guidance of Beltelecom. Currently, 318 facilities are connected to it.

As was noted at the signing of the memorandum, modern video surveillance systems can become not just a control tool for agricultural enterprises, but a full-fledged digital assistant. Additional solutions based on artificial intelligence will in the future make it possible to analyze technological processes, respond more quickly to animal health problems, and increase production efficiency. Thus, cameras on farms are becoming part of a broader transition of Belarusian agriculture to digital technologies — from simple monitoring of a facility to intelligent management of production processes.
