On July 31, the Lelchitsy District was visited on a working trip by Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus Maria Mazhinskaya. The focus was on developing regional potential, supporting investment initiatives, and creating conditions under which the natural riches of the area work for the benefit of people.

The deputy head of the economic department, accompanied by the deputy chairman of the district executive committee Leonid Bob, visited enterprises implementing promising production projects.

The first stop was the Glushkevichi crushed stone plant of KPRSUP "Gomelobldorstroy."

Here, Maria Mazhinskaya familiarized herself with the progress of work at the "Karyer Nadezhdy" facing stone deposit and the "Glushkevichi" building stone deposit. Branch director Roman Mikhalkov told the guests about the current production, key economic indicators, and prospects for the plant's development. The enterprise specializes in the extraction, crushing, and sorting of building stone, supplying non-metallic materials to organizations in the Gomel Region and other regions of Belarus.

The enterprise intends to carry out a large-scale reconstruction of crushing process line No. 1. This important project has already been included in the Investment Program of the Gomel Region for the coming year, and the necessary design and estimate documentation is already fully prepared.

The next stops on the visit were Unitary Enterprise "Zarya Polesya" and OJSC "Zvezda Polesya," where the heads of the farms, Sergey Zaychik and Andrey Nekrashevich, showed the guests the construction of a preventive care facility for calves — a modern standard livestock complex designed for housing and raising young animals during the first weeks of life.

Maria Mazhinskaya also familiarized herself with the work of LLC "LelStroyGarant," which has successfully implemented the initiative "One District – One Project." Thanks to the launch of a new woodworking production facility, the company has achieved impressive results: approximately 70% of its output is exported, while the remaining volume is in demand on the domestic market, meeting the needs of the construction sector and capital renovation of facilities. Maria Aleksandrovna discussed the current situation and future plans for expanding production with the head of the organization, Aleksandr Sinitsky.

During a meeting of the district executive committee devoted to the results of the region's socioeconomic development in the first half of 2026, Maria Mazhinskaya noted the uniqueness of the Lelchitsy district. As a participant in the Program for the Development of the Pripyat Polesie for 2025–2030, the district possesses significant potential, the task of which is to transform its existing competitive advantages into strong economic performance and improved quality of life for local residents.

"The key to the district's sustainable and dynamic development during the current five-year period lies in the implementation of projects aimed at increasing localization, establishing new cooperation chains, and advancing the deeper processing of local raw materials," the deputy minister emphasized. "To those enterprises whose strategies are built around such business ideas, we offer support on favorable terms — through the mechanisms of the updated investment legislation and the credit products of the 'Regional Initiative.'"

A particular focus during the meeting was placed on the development of agro-ecotourism. The deputy head of the Ministry of Economy noted that the unique nature of Polesie, the traditions of wild beekeeping, and the local cuisine represent potential that is of interest not only to Belarusians but also to foreign visitors.

At the conclusion of her trip, Maria Aleksandrovna visited the Lelchitsy Forestry Enterprise. The company is not only planning to modernize its sawmill production but is also actively developing a new tourist attraction — the "Polesie Trail," which is expected to become the region's "calling card."

— The region already has successful examples, and this positive experience needs to be scaled up, — summarized Maria Mazhinskaya, emphasizing that creating comfortable conditions for business is currently a priority task for the department.

The Lelchitsy district clearly understands its strengths. The combination of state support, modern investment legislation, and the sensible use of the region's natural resources makes it possible to create a foundation for improving the quality of life of every resident of Polesie.
