A working visit to Grodno was made by a delegation from the Rostov region, led by the region's Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food, Olga Chernovaeva. The main goal of the trip was to expand and deepen cooperation between Grodno Region of the Republic of Belarus and Rostov Region of the Russian Federation in the agri‑industrial complex.
The visit program turned out to be intensive. The guests visited the region's leading enterprises, JSC “Molokiy Mir” and JSC “Grodno Meat Factory,” and also familiarized themselves with the I.P. Senko State Production Complex, where high‑technology production of milk, beef, and pork is organized.
Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Oblispolkom, Igor Sorokin, emphasized the importance of face‑to‑face communication between producers:
– We are always glad to welcome guests, especially from the Russian Federation. Such meetings provide an opportunity to converse and learn new things. The need for communication is unconditional, because it is at such, perhaps even informal, meetings that many issues are resolved and contracts are signed. Guests see not just a product on a shop shelf, but directly how it is produced and how the production works.
Olga Chernovaeva noted that Belarusian dairy products have long earned the trust and affection of consumers in the Rostov region. However, the current visit is aimed at deeper technological cooperation.
– The managers and technologists of the region's leading meat‑ and dairy‑processing enterprises came to exchange experience with Belarusian colleagues and develop our ties. We have certain proposals and ideas for joint cooperation, which, I am confident, will contribute to the development of cooperative links, – said Olga Chernovaeva.
It should be noted that the food and processing industry of the Rostov region is one of the drivers of the regional economy, accounting for more than 20% of total industrial production. The oil and fat sector is especially developed, actively exporting its products to Belarus. On the shelves of domestic stores one can find goods from well‑known brands “Zateya” and “Zolotaya Semechka”. In addition, grains, long‑life crackers, confectionery and fish products are supplied to the Republic.
The meeting showed that both sides have a mutual interest not only in trade but also in exchanging technologies and production solutions, opening new horizons for further cooperation.
