The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, identified weaknesses in the operation of mobile shops and demanded that the situation be improved. He made this statement at a meeting on ensuring that rural residents have access to a wide range of goods.
The topic of developing mobile shop operations is also relevant for the Zhlobin District. Here, a specific manufacturer has begun to tackle the task set by the head of state.
Thus, the Zhlobin Meat Plant began operating its own mobile shop in a trial mode from August 1. As head of the branded trade department Tatiana Vasilyeva told a journalist from the newspaper Novi Dzen, a special vehicle was purchased to sell the products, ensuring compliance with all sanitary standards. The temperature regime in the vehicle is maintained year‑round thanks to a refrigeration chamber, two freezer compartments, and medium‑temperature displays.
So far, the mobile shop serves 13 agricultural enterprises that are part of the agro‑industrial complexes of Zhlobin, Svetlogorsk, Rogachyov, Buda‑Koshelyov, and Checher districts.
The mobile shop offers its own products across various price ranges—from affordable to more expensive. The assortment includes ready‑made items (sausages, hot dogs, smoked meats), chilled meat, and a wide selection of semi‑finished products: cutlets, dumplings, steaks, kebabs, and marinated meat.
The operation of such a shop is a pilot project. However, it is already clear that mobile trade makes the meat plant’s products accessible to the rural population of several districts in the Gomel region.
