A few weeks ago we wrote about the closure of the skate park in Hugo Chavez Park. Broken plywood sheets and holes in the elements — the area opened in 2024 clearly needed repair. In the end it was closed, and now it has officially reopened.

In an interview with Onlíner, Vyacheslav Lobachevsky, head of the City Parks department of Minskzelenstroy, said the repair would be completed by September 10 — they would replace the worn plywood. And indeed that’s what happened. On the morning of September 11 we noticed that the repair and prohibition signs had disappeared. So now children can come here calmly and ride skateboards, bicycles, and scooters.

The repaired surface now looks like this.

Although, it seems, many were not bothered by the unsafe condition of the facility — some continued to ride in the skate park despite the warnings.
