In the city above Sosev during the summer, ten fountains delight locals and visitors with their gentle gurgling, cascading flows and playful "chatters." To ensure they function properly, work crews from the enterprise "Gomelvodokanal" monitor them. One of them is electrician Maxim Efimenko.

Maxim Efimenko came to work at the Gomelvodokanal enterprise 16 years ago. A graduate of School #34 (now Gomel State Agricultural-Technical College) worked on various city objects, but only at the Gomelvodokanal did he have to master the installation, commissioning and adjustment of city fountains.

– Everything had to be mastered on the job, – recalls the electrician. – My first job was connected with the most famous and complex fountain in Gomel – near the circus. It has not only lighting accompaniment but also varying water splash heights, and the basin volume amounts to 210 cubic meters of water.

– It's pleasant that another bright and colorful fountain will appear in our city, and it will be doubly pleasant for us, who prepared it for launch, to watch it work, – added Maxim Yefimenko. – Every autumn we dismantle the equipment of almost all fountains, and it is stored in special conditions – in a special container filled with water. And in the spring, we put it back.

In addition to fountains, the electricians of the relay protection and automation section service water intakes, sewage pumping stations, and other facilities related to automation.
