The Gomel City Council of Deputies conducted the qualifying round of the city competition for young specialists.
The initiative to hold the competition for young specialists of Gomel's enterprises and organizations, titled “Best Young Specialist of the Year,” was taken by the Gomel City Council of Deputies. After studying the experience of capital city colleagues, they adopted the idea for themselves, but taking into account the territorial particularities of their own city.
Thirty young men and women—representatives from the fields of industry, construction, housing and utilities, healthcare, education, and culture—submitted applications to participate in the competition.
Chairwoman of the City Council of Deputies, Elena Alecina, welcomed the competition participants and highlighted the goals and objectives of the city contest, emphasizing:
And our competition is also intended to shape an active stance among youth, creating additional motivation for their professional level.
During a meeting of the council’s presidium and competition commission, the nominated young specialists presented brief presentations about their work and explained why they chose this profession, their early achievements, and future plans. Believe it or not, some candidates have many achievements, and they are a very convincing argument!
Answering questions from the council presidium members, the participants of the qualifying round spoke not only about their profession with passion but also revealed talents in other areas, as all of them are creative and innovative people.
The presentation of one of the participants, for example, was delivered in poetic form! The competition participants also spoke about their involvement in implementing youth projects in Gomel, aimed at improving the environment and creating a comfortable living space.
The final results of the qualifying round of the first city competition for young specialists of the city’s enterprises and organizations will take place soon, and the winners will be ceremoniously awarded at a city council session.
The winner will receive an Honorary Certificate from the council, and participants who take prize places will receive a thank‑you.
