The conditions for harvesting potatoes, sugar beet, and the maturation of corn grain will soon be quite favorable. sb.by reported this to the Republican Center for Hydrometeorology, Radioactive Contamination Control and Environmental Monitoring of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

The agrometeorological conditions for soil preparation, the beginning of sowing grain crops, and the development of winter rapeseed have improved.

Recent rains increased soil moisture, most significantly in the northern part of the country.

On most of Belarusian territory, the upper 10‑centimeter layer of soil is well moist; in several districts of the Vitebsk region, over‑moisture is noted. In some southern areas, where precipitation was lower, the lack of soil moisture persists.

"Over the next period, mainly dry weather will cause loss of soil moisture, and areas with insufficient wetting will expand. At the same time, the conditions for harvesting potatoes, sugar beet, and corn grain maturation will be quite favorable," says the Belhidromet statement.
