High growth in real wages continues in Belarus — EDB
shklovinfo August 31, 2026 10:41 Belarus continues to see high growth in real wages. This is stated in the macroeconomic review of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), reports BELTA.
In July 2026, real wages increased by 9.1% year-on-year, following a 9% rise in June. In the budget sector, wage growth continues to outpace the average across the economy: according to EDB estimates, it amounted to 10.5% year-on-year, after 11.8% the previous month.
Starting September 1, the base rate for paying workers in budget-funded organizations will be raised. "This will help sustain high wage dynamics and support consumer activity," the EDB noted.
