Tariffs for toll road travel changed in Belarus

Aksana Kutsarskaya 1 September 2026 10:35 Tariffs in the national electronic toll collection system for traveling on toll roads of the Republic of Belarus (BelToll) have been updated, BELTA was informed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

In addition to the tariff update for all types of vehicles, the innovations affect the conditions of travel on the access roads leading to Minsk and provide for the application of an increasing coefficient for vehicles with a technically permissible gross weight of more than 3.5 tonnes in the case of their transit movement along MKAD-1 and/or Minsk.

"One of the important goals of developing Belarus's transport system in recent years has been the creation of special transit corridors for commercial freight transport around Minsk, while on the roads leading to the city, priority is given to public and personal transport. The innovations in the tolling of toll roads are designed to reinforce this state of affairs and encourage drivers of vehicles with a technically permissible gross weight of more than 3.5 tonnes to choose routes specifically designated for this purpose. We expect that the measures adopted will help rationally distribute traffic flows on the approaches to Minsk and make travel on these roads faster and more comfortable for non-transit traffic, as well as have a beneficial effect on the environmental situation around the capital and contribute to improving road safety," the Ministry of Transport commented.

The new rules were introduced in accordance with the resolution of the Ministry of Transport and Communications dated 24 August 2026 No. 42 "On the approval of tariffs for travel on toll motor roads of the Republic of Belarus." From 1 September, travel on toll roads leading to Minsk is paid with the application of an increasing coefficient to the current tariffs. The innovation applies to vehicles with a technically permissible gross weight of more than 3.5 tonnes if, within one hour, they travel along two or more segments of the M-2 (from 14.9 to 25.308 km), M-3 (from 9.4 to 10.418 km), M-4 (from 16.3 to 19.046 km), M-6/E28 (from 12 to 20.575 km), R-1 (from 8.2 to 24.44 km), R-23 (from 10.2 to 14.1 km), R-28 (from 12.44 to 16.91 km) highways.

The following tariffs per 1 km/euro are applied to calculate the toll fee for vehicles traveling on a charged segment of toll roads: for vehicles with a permissible total mass exceeding 3.5 tonnes and two axles — 0.121, with three axles — 0.152, and with four or more axles — 0.182.

For vehicles with a technically permissible total mass of no more than 3.5 tonnes that are not registered in EAEU member countries, the cost of travel continues to be calculated based on the duration of toll road use and amounts to: 21, 33, and 114 euros for 15 calendar days, 30 calendar days, and one calendar year, respectively.

For vehicles with a technically permissible total mass of no more than 3.5 tonnes registered in the territory of EAEU member countries, travel on the country's roads remains free of charge.

The amount of the single-trip toll fee is as follows: for a vehicle with a permissible total mass of up to 3.5 tonnes inclusive, 15 euros in cases of non-payment; for a vehicle with a permissible total mass exceeding 3.5 tonnes, 19 euros in cases of partial non-payment, and 38 euros in cases of non-payment.
