After the presentation where the foldable iPhone Duo was unveiled, Apple raised the prices of all its previous‑generation iPhones. It is reported that the price increase affected the iPhone 16, the entire iPhone 17 lineup, and the iPhone Air. Today, at official retail outlets, these devices are more expensive than they were yesterday.

For example, a few days ago the iPhone 16 sold for $699, but its price has now risen to $799. The iPhone 17e with 256 GB of storage now costs $699 instead of $599—at launch it was listed at the higher price. The iPhone 17 starts at $899 for the 256‑GB model, up from $799. This trend continues with the iPhone Air, which now costs $1,099 instead of $999.

Meanwhile, the new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are $100 more expensive than their predecessors, priced at $1,199 and $1,299 respectively. According to experts, the price hike is driven by an ongoing shortage of components caused by the construction and expansion of AI data centers. The shortage has hit the price of memory RAM particularly hard, and there are currently no signs of easing.
