Belarusian healthcare system enters the top 20 global e-Health projects according to the UN

The project "Development and Implementation of a Centralized Healthcare Information System," carried out by the Digital Transformation Agency on behalf of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, has been nominated for the WSIS Prizes 2026 in Geneva.

In the "E-Health" category, the Belarusian development outperformed more than 100 initiatives from governments and IT companies around the world. A total of over 1,500 projects participated in the competition. The status has been confirmed by a certificate from the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union.

The press service of the Ministry of Health explained what this means for Belarus:

– International recognition of quality: UN and ITU experts acknowledged that the architecture, security, and scalability of the Belarusian system meet the best global practices.

– Validation of the strategy: the course toward creating a unified digital framework, standardized data exchange, and the introduction of electronic medical records has proven its effectiveness.

– Growth in export potential: the recognition increases trust in Belarusian digital products and opens up new opportunities for exporting Belarusian medical IT solutions to the EAEU, CIS, and BRICS countries.

The Belarusian national project's inclusion among the world's 20 best projects in the E-health category confirms the competitiveness of the created Centralized Healthcare Information System and the high potential of domestic developers.
