Starting September 23, a temporary ban on the export of certain types of industrial goods will be introduced in Belarus for six months. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Alexander Turchin.
Purpose of the measure: preventing shortages in the domestic market
As reported by the government's press service, the measure was adopted in order to prevent the unjustified export of industrial goods from the country's territory and to avert shortages of them in the domestic market.
Which goods have been excluded from the restriction
The list of goods subject to the temporary export ban has been updated. It excludes items for which the permit-based export procedure has been deemed inexpedient. In particular, these are goods for which, during the period of the restrictive measure, there were either no applications for export at all, or their quantities were insignificant.
Also excluded from the ban are goods exported outside the republic to the distribution network of Belarusian organizations abroad or to special representatives, as well as those whose export and technical maintenance are complicated by the need to obtain permits.
Additional exceptions to the export approval rule
In addition, based on the practical application of the measure, additional cases have been established in which the approval of goods export is not required.
