Alexei Bely: The Key Is Not Speed, but Attentiveness and Precision

The first Sunday of September is the day when workers of the oil, gas, and fuel industry celebrate their professional holiday.

In Kalinkovichi District, the gas infrastructure is not simply pipes and valves, but a complex system stretching more than 410 kilometers. Its uninterrupted operation is the responsibility of the district gas service employees. Among them is young repair and maintenance fitter for outdoor gas pipelines Alexei Bely. He has been in the profession for only a year and a half, but his colleagues already trust him with the most critical sections of work.

"I started out, of course, like everyone else, with a brush, painting equipment, undergoing training under the guidance of specialists, and observing the work of more experienced colleagues," Alexei says. "After all, the quality of our work affects not only the gas supply, but also the lives of consumers and the integrity of their property."

In a short time, Alexei has established himself as a competent specialist who is not afraid of complex work. The crew he works with handles the planned replacement of outdated equipment. This year, the team completed a significant amount of work: two gas distribution stations (GDS) were replaced in the villages of Bobrovichi and Syrod. These are major facilities, on whose condition the gas supply of entire streets and social infrastructure depends. Another responsible task was the modernization of gas equipment in Gorochichi. There, the specialists replaced a GDS with a more modern cabinet-type distribution station (CDS). Additionally, the crew replaced 12 valves on the high-pressure gas pipeline that had fully reached the end of their service life. This kind of work, which at first glance seems unnoticeable, is vital and ensures the safety and stability of the entire system.

But the gas workers' concerns do not end there. Alexei and his colleagues actively participate in major repairs of apartment buildings so that residents can feel safe.

"When I joined the service, I understood that the key here is not speed, but attentiveness and precision," Alexei shares. "Gas does not tolerate mistakes. That is why I carry out every task, even the simplest one, with full commitment."

Colleagues note that the young fitter quickly settled into the team, absorbs the experience of his seniors, and is always ready to lend a hand. In a profession where skills are honed over many years, Alexei is making confident strides forward. And ahead of him lie new facilities, new challenges, and further professional growth.
