The results of the socio-economic development of the Zhlobin district for the nine months of 2026 were summed up at a meeting of the executive committee. This period was not simple: the district's economy developed in conditions of restructuring of external markets and a high bar of assigned tasks. The district has not yet managed to achieve a number of planned indicators and tasks. However, behind these figures lies the work on finding new growth points. The meeting was chaired by the head of the Zhlobin district, Sergei Yaretz.
The Zhlobin district demonstrates stability in the labor market. The level of unemployment in the district is recorded at a near-zero level - 0.04% (with a permissible norm of 0.3%). This is facilitated, among other things, by state support: as part of a specialized state program, 14 unemployed citizens received gratuitous subsidies totaling over 80 thousand rubles to open their own business.
In addition, over the nine months, 38 new enterprises were created in the Zhlobin district, with a target of 20 units for this period. Notably, businesses are moving away from pure trade: almost half of the new enterprises (15) opened in the processing industry, construction, and agriculture. In total, more than 2.1 thousand entities and about 2.5 thousand self-employed individuals are employed in the small and medium-sized entrepreneurship sector.
The preservation of the population's purchasing power is indicated by retail trade turnover. Through all sales channels, goods worth 711.4 million rubles were sold (growth rate - 104.6%), which is higher than the assigned task. Zhlobin accounted for 7.4% of the entire retail trade in the Gomel region. Residents of the district actively bought non-food products (+6.6%), which is directly related to the high rates of housing construction.
The district's construction complex worked ahead of schedule. Over the three quarters, 37,317 square meters of housing were put into operation. Following the housing sector, the sphere of contract work also went into the plus (102.8%).
At the same time, the district demonstrated its capabilities in resource saving. The indicator of reducing production costs, with a plan of -0.4%, was -1.7%. The leaders in reducing costs were agricultural workers (-2.7%) and communal services (-0.7%). At the same time, some organizations exceeded their costs.
The district's agriculture completed the three quarters with the production of gross output at 106.5%. A foundation for the future has been created in feed production: 26.5 centners of feed units were harvested per 1 conventional head (20% higher than the level of 2025). The volumes of hay harvesting increased 1.4 times, and silage increased by 25%.
As a result, the total milk yield increased to 54.9 thousand tons, due to an increase in productivity - the yield per cow increased by 212 kg (to 3,705 kg). The marketability of milk rose to 91.9%. The leaders in terms of dynamics are the Papоротnoe-Agro branch (119.6%), the Stepy state-owned agricultural enterprise (116.9%), and the Mormal public joint-stock company (116%). There are also agricultural enterprises that worked below the level of the previous year.
Regarding the housing and communal services sector, by October, the communal services had already fulfilled the annual plan, having relocated 1.9 km of water supply and 1.4 km of sewage lines in the city and agrotowns. In the district, the plan for preparing the heating networks for winter has been fulfilled by 100%. The communal services replaced 7 km of heating lines. A large volume of work has been carried out under the state program "Comfortable Housing and Favorable Environment": the coating has been repaired on 571 adjacent territories (over 25 thousand square meters), 30.6 thousand square meters of housing have already been commissioned in Zhlobin, Luksk, and Oktyabr, 27 entrances have been updated in houses, 872 lamps have been replaced with energy-saving ones, and 12 new elevators have been put into operation.
The meeting also summarized the results of the execution of the Zhlobin district budget for the 9 months of the current year.
