Headline: "You Can Make a Spider-Man Suit." How the AI Technology Forum in Minsk Goes Dozens of pavilions with tech developments, foreign speech, expert presentations—all of this is the AI technology forum, taking place at the BelExpo exhibition center from October 16 to 18. Numerous Belarusian startups and established companies show how they apply artificial intelligence to create useful products, and the event's goal, among other things, is to attract foreign investment. Onliner visited the exhibition—we show and tell you more.

The giant "BelExpo" is divided into two large zones. In one of them, there are many pavilions, as well as a stage with a parterre where various important topics are discussed throughout the forum—for example, how to increase agricultural efficiency with AI or how to use computer vision for the rehabilitation of people after injuries.

Many of the speakers represent tech startups, whose developments can be explored more closely at special booths.

Among them, there are many projects from the field of medicine—for example, a company offering AI analysis of mammographic images, created, as claimed, out of care for women. Nearby, representatives of an app where one can control and improve male sexual health are present.

In the second half, there is more entertainment: a bar, dancing, quizzes, and a dancing robot. But even in this zone, there are a large number of booths representing companies working on developments using AI: artificial climate technologies, an automation system for farmers, and even an app for dream interpretation.

The event's organizer is ATOM Group. As its founder, Dmitry Saksonov, told an Onliner journalist, the forum's goal is to show what the projects within the company have achieved and what perspectives Belarusian startups can offer to interest potential investors.

"We have created an international ecosystem of about 150 companies, which allows us, despite all geopolitical and economic difficulties, to attract international capital from all over the world to our country. Belarus does not have large resources, but it has an enormous potential of talents working in the field of artificial intelligence."

Americans saw an opportunity for investment here, and by investing money in our companies and projects at an early stage, they get fairly good stakes. And the businesses receive multiple growth in capitalization.

This year, we have invested more than $200 million in our projects, which managed to attract...

from international investors. That is, we show that money can support ideas, ideas can turn into projects, and projects can yield a financial return.

Dmitry also emphasizes that one of their main goals is to retain entrepreneurial people in Belarus, creating conditions for them to develop projects so they can obtain financing and sell their products abroad, earning substantial sums.
