Xiaomi officially announced that the upcoming 18 Pro smartphone will feature an updated Super Pixel 2.0 display, which, according to the manufacturer, combines flagship-level image quality with built-in hardware privacy protection.

Xiaomi has not yet explained exactly how the hardware-level privacy protection works, but there are some leaks about the technology's details. This feature is called Smart Privacy Display. It is expected that users will be able to create app groups and set different rules for displaying confidential information for each group. For example, a banking app could use the privacy mode, while a video app would not.

This feature can also be activated automatically when the phone detects confidential data on the screen: passwords, payments, money transfers, and messages.

According to Xiaomi, the Super Pixel 2.0 display uses an M11 emission system, a new green‑glowing material, and a full‑color RGB scheme that, as claimed, helps maintain pixel sharpness without loss. The manufacturer also assures that the new green material increases light output by 20%, and the display’s maximum brightness reaches 4000 nits.

The company claims that the display consumes about the same amount of power as a 1.5K panel while delivering sharpness comparable to a 2K screen.

As noted by Gizmochina, these are statements from Xiaomi itself, and the company has not yet provided detailed test results. Independent testing will be required to evaluate the display’s performance in real‑world conditions.
