Employers are obliged to supply employees working in hazardous industries with milk or equivalent food products. The list of substances for which such "preventive" nutrition is required is strictly regulated by a joint decree of the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Health.

The list includes a total of 57 groups of hazardous compounds and factors whose effects on the body require compensation. This list includes:

• Heavy metals: mercury, lead, cadmium, copper, nickel, chromium, and their derivatives.

• Chemical and biological agents: antibiotics, pesticides, as well as components of microbiological synthesis (including bacterial and fungal toxins).

• Industrial factors: all types of soot, as well as dust of plant and animal origin.

• Pharmaceuticals: production and packaging of vitamin preparations.

• Toxic substances: any potent poisons.
