The National Statistical Committee has published fresh data on the incomes of Belarusians. In August, the average salary across the country reached 3135.9 rubles. We studied the agency's report to find out which industries are currently leading in terms of earnings.

The top three most profitable sectors at the end of the summer looked like this:

• Air transport: workers in passenger air transport traditionally hold the top spot. Their average earnings were 8653 rubles.
• IT sector: specialists in the field of information technology took second place with a figure of 7894.5 rubles.
• Finance and insurance: auxiliary activities in this sector brought employees an average of 7821.1 rubles.

If we consider other popular sectors of the economy, the figures were distributed as follows:

• Construction: the average salary here was fixed at 4204.7 rubles.
• Industry: workers in this sector received an average of 3274.9 rubles.
• Agriculture: in crop production, the average income was 3196.5 rubles, and in animal husbandry - 2658.1 rubles.
• Retail trade: the incomes of workers in this sector in August were 2507.5 rubles.

It should be noted that Belstat provides data on accrued wages. This means that the indicated amounts do not yet include income tax and mandatory insurance contributions. "In hand," workers receive slightly less than what is indicated in the official statistics.
