When the stork switches to 'x2' mode: for Cherikov residents about payments for twins

The birth of a child is always full of emotions and... sleepless nights. And now imagine that during an ultrasound they tell you: "You will have twins! Or even triplets." At this moment future parents experience joy mixed with slight panic: they'll need two cribs, a huge "steam locomotive" stroller, two pairs of overalls and simply enormous supplies of diapers. A young family's budget from such news can squeak at the seams. Fortunately, for this case there is excellent state-level insurance—a special one-time payment for purchasing essential children's items. To find out how parents can get this substantial bonus without drowning in paperwork, we asked Cherykova Sereyka, head of the complex support department in crisis situation at RCSON.

The most important thing to know: this payment is not a replacement for regular "maternity" allowances, but a pleasant and very substantial supplement to them. Other children's benefits will not be taken away from you.

  • For each born twin, the state allocates exactly two minimum living standard budgets (BPM). That is, if you have twins, four additional BPM are automatically added to the general payments, explains

According to Svetlana Serikova, young mothers will not have to run from office to office gathering certificates. The procedure has been maximally simplified. All documents need to be submitted to one place – the One Window service of the Cherikovsky District Executive Committee. You will need:

  • Your passport.
  • Birth certificates of the babies (all those born at the same time).
  • A certificate of family composition.
  • For special cases: if you have adopted the babies or taken them into guardianship – bring the court decision.
  • The application itself you will fill out on the spot; the service specialists will provide the forms.

For parents of twins, the first months fly by like a single day: feeding, rocking, laundry, and so on in a cycle. But there is absolutely no reason to delay the paperwork.

— By law, the application must be submitted no later than six months after the children’s birth, — warns Svetlana Serikova. — Six months may seem like a long time, but in the endless worries about twins they pass unnoticed. If you miss this deadline, the money will simply be lost, and the family budget will be deprived of this support. Therefore my advice to parents: once the babies are born and have gained a little strength, go ahead and process the documents right away, don’t put it off for later. We are always happy to see young families at our center. May caring for the little ones be only a joy.
