Imagine a situation: you are planning to import a garden tractor from Russia. The main question is whether you need to pay a recycling fee. Specialists from the Belarusian customs authorities' Telegram channel report that the answer depends on whether your model is on the official list. If the tractor is not on that list, no fee is charged.

Since April 29, 2026, new rules under Resolution No. 195 have been in effect in Belarus. The list of self-propelled machines subject to the fee has been expanded — it now includes wheeled and tracked agricultural tractors, combine harvesters, self-propelled mowers, and other equipment.

The rate is calculated based on three parameters: machine type, engine power, and year of manufacture. For wheeled tractors, the rate range is from 6.5 thousand rubles (30–60 hp) to 136 thousand rubles (280–340 hp). If the tractor is older than three years, multiplying coefficients apply.

An important nuance: the increased rates for machines from EAEU countries do not apply in your case — this rule does not apply to self-propelled machinery. The fee must be paid before registering the tractor with the Belarusian State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI) or State Technical Supervision Authority (Gostekhnadzor). After payment, the fee is considered final.
