OJSC "Agro-Sad Rassvet" is one of the oldest agricultural enterprises in the district. The name of the farm is not accidental; back in the Soviet era, the first industrial orchards were planted here. And now the agrarians continue the glorious traditions: the fruit garden occupies more than 150 hectares.

However, the activity of the agricultural enterprise is not limited to fruit growing. The crop and livestock sectors also contribute to the revenue. The diversification of the farm allows it to develop confidently and demonstrate good results.

Thus, according to the results of this year's harvest, the gross yield of grain and leguminous crops amounted to 3,653 tons. The average yield reached 44 centners per hectare – this is the third-highest figure in the district. "We harvested 972 tons of winter rapeseed with a yield of 37.4 centners per hectare. Last year, the yield was lower – 28 centners," recalls the chief agronomist, Oleg Tsiolta. "Overall, the harvesting campaign proceeded swiftly, and we moved on to the autumn field work. Winter rapeseed has already been sown, its area occupying 260 hectares. Now we have started sowing winter grains. This year, we will increase the winter barley sowing area by 50 hectares. We are also continuing the corn harvest to create the necessary feed base for livestock."

Regarding livestock farming, over eight months, the enterprise increased its gross milk production. This figure reached almost 8.7 thousand tons, which is 104 percent compared to the same period last year. The average yield per cow is 7,053 kilograms: this is the third-highest figure in the district and the 46th among agricultural enterprises in Belarus based on the results of the first half of the year. "The average daily yield per cow reached 29 kilograms with an average fat content of 3.65 and a marketability of 93.5 percent. All the milk sold over the past ten years has been processed as 'extra' grade," emphasized the chief zootechnician, Alexander Boyko. "In total, the farm keeps about 3,250 head of cattle, including 1,235 in the dairy herd. This year, the size of the dairy herd increased by 30 head, and by the end of the year, the figure will rise to 50. The average daily weight gains of the livestock are also pleasing – 866 grams, or 102 percent compared to the same figure last year. The young animals on feed show even better results – 1,250 grams. The livestock production output amounted to 4,368 centners – 107 percent."

For example, at the MTF «Druzhba» there are 835 head of dairy herd. The average daily milk yield per cow is 30 kilograms of milk; last year the yield per cow amounted to 10174 kilograms. Also, there is a positive trend this year, so this indicator will be higher. Modernization is carried out annually to improve livestock keeping conditions. Last year, a ventilation system with irrigation was installed in the cow barn. This year, reconstruction was carried out in the maternity ward. The technical base is also being strengthened: recently they purchased a new, more productive, self-propelled feed distributor. Overall, all 32 people on the farm are motivated to achieve high results.

One of such workers is calf caretaker Elena Kapustei. The woman has been working on the farm for seven years. «I like working with animals. I am responsible for 120 calves, each requiring an individual approach. But I find a common language with them, so the work goes smoothly,» she explains.
