It is better to calculate all the moves now, so as not to end up with minimal payments later.
The Ministry of Labor has clarified the nuances regarding pensions for individual entrepreneurs, writes Tochka.
It depends on the length of the work record, the amount of income from which contributions to the FSZN were paid, and rights to allowances/increases.
According to the ministry, the average old-age pension is 1,125 rubles.
But the ministry emphasizes that if a person paid contributions for at least 20 years (minimum insurance period) from income not exceeding the minimum wage, then the right has been formed only to the minimum old-age labor pension. Today it is 600 rubles.
Structure of contributions to the FSZN
The amount of mandatory insurance contributions per month is 35% of the minimum wage. From January 1, 2026, the minimum wage is 858 rubles. For individual entrepreneurs, lawyers, and notaries, mandatory contributions include two parts:
pension insurance (29% of the minimum wage)
social insurance (6% of the minimum wage) – for cases of temporary disability, pregnancy, and childbirth.
Artisans, owners of agro-estates, and single tax payers are required to pay only one part – pension insurance (29% of the minimum wage).
Contributions also depend on the type of tax. An individual entrepreneur who pays income tax must contribute 35% of actual income, provided that the income was less than 12 minimum wages.
If income is at the level of 12 minimum wages or more, then you need to pay 35% of 12 minimum wages.
For individual entrepreneurs paying the single tax, the contribution rate is 35% of the minimum wage per month.
How to increase your pension
Individual entrepreneurs have the opportunity to increase the size of their future pension. To do this, they can make contributions to the FSZN from income above the minimum wage.
The ministry also gave some advice. They reminded that the insurance work record includes those periods during which contributions were paid to the Fund's budget. Therefore, you need to plan your pension future right now.
You can check your insurance record for the period starting from January 1, 2003, in the FSZN mobile application or by contacting the Fund's authorities.
