Belarusians can now find out what information about their income the tax authorities have without leaving home. And they can do it quite easily. How exactly – let’s find out right now.
We tackle this relevant topic for Belarusians together with press secretary of the National Center for Electronic Services Maya Endeladze in the MP column “E‑Pass on the Couch.”
On the unified electronic services portal “E‑Pass,” you can order a new electronic service – “Information on an individual’s income held by the tax authority” (code 3.05.03). It allows you to find out what income data the tax office already has on a person.
– The information is provided based on data from the automated information system “Accounting of Individual Income” of the Ministry of Taxes and Revenues. You can request information only about your own income. The data are available from 2023 to the current year, – Maya Endeladze noted.
How to order an income certificate online
To obtain the service, you need to undergo strict authentication on the “E‑Pass” portal. This can be done in one of three ways:
After logging into the Belarusian personal account, you need to open the “My Services” section and find the service by name or code 3.05.03. Before ordering, you can review the service description, learn the execution time, cost, recipient category, and the format in which the result is provided.
Then you need to click “Order,” and then “Pay.” The service can be paid for via E‑RIP or a bank payment card, after topping up the personal account on the portal.
– After payment, you need to fill in the mandatory fields marked with an asterisk. For example, you do not need to specify the tax agent’s UNP, and the system will automatically insert the individual’s identification number. The user will then need to select the year for which information is required and click the “
The ready-made certificate can be downloaded in PDF format to a computer or opened on a phone using a QR code. The document will contain information about the income that the tax authority has.
Why you may need a certificate
The new electronic service allows you to obtain information about income without a personal visit to the tax office. Such a certificate may be useful when applying for a loan, installment plan, or mortgage, confirming solvency, assessing financial burden, obtaining a visa, and in other situations where it is necessary to confirm income.
In addition, with its help, you can check in advance what information about income the tax authority has and compare it with your documents. This will allow you to notice possible discrepancies in time and, if necessary, clarify them before submitting a tax return or encountering additional questions from the tax authority, noted a specialist in an interview.
The tax authority uses the available information as part of tax control. In particular, the legislation provides for the conduct of desk audits based on tax returns, documents, and other information that the tax authority has. During such an audit, the payer may be asked to provide explanations and necessary documents.
The cost of the electronic service 3.05.03 "Information about the income of an individual that the tax authority has" is 66 kopecks, concluded the press secretary of the NCEU.
