cherikovnews.by October 6, 2026 8:59 The innovation of the law "On Drinking Water Supply and Wastewater Disposal (Sewerage)" has become the creation of uniform conditions for providing the service of transporting wastewater by sewage transport from non-centralized wastewater disposal systems.
A single procedure for providing the service will be determined by a separate resolution. Currently, the document is undergoing legal expertise in the Ministry of Justice.
New rules for wastewater: what homeowners need to know from January 1, 2027
According to Irina Salivonchik, Deputy Head of the Department of Communal Services and Energy of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services, to form a unified approach, the draft resolution provides an algorithm for providing the service for the removal of wastewater.
Local authorities will post information on their websites about the performers and the tariffs they set. An application can be submitted through the 115 service, and the service can be paid for through ERIP.
To reduce the cost of the service, local authorities will be able to determine the optimal radius for the transportation of wastewater and the places of their acceptance. In addition, carriers will be required to drain wastewater only at specialized stations.
It is also planned to establish requirements for wastewater accumulators - cesspits, including the maximum level of their filling.
In Belarus, there are about 800,000 households connected to centralized drinking water supply systems, but not connected to centralized sewerage. Every year, more than 1.3 million cubic meters of wastewater are removed from them using about 600 units of equipment. Source: Portal of Communal Literacy
