In Minsk, there is a desire to expand the construction of buildings made from lightweight steel thin‑walled structures (LSTK). The reason to bring up the technology arose at the opening of a new wing of an infectious disease hospital – it was built entirely from a steel frame, which noticeably cut both the budget and the timeline. More details about the plans were given by the chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Vladimir Kucharov, the agency “Minsk‑News” reports.
According to him, the technology can be used to build various types of buildings: residential and industrial, shopping centers, medical facilities, agricultural structures, and so on. In Minsk, private houses are already planned to be assembled from steel profiles. This will be done at a LSTK manufacturing plant established on the site of the Minsk City Technopark.
— We found plots in the city of three to four hundred square meters each, and gave them to the “Minsk‑Stroy” consortium. 200 such cottages will be built and subsequently sold to the public. They are very compact and convenient.
