"The growth of population welfare and stability of the consumer market. Over the past five-year period, real wages have increased (by 1.4 times). At the same time, special emphasis in the five-year plan was placed on increasing wages for certain categories of budget sector workers (doctors, nursing staff, teachers, and cultural workers).

An important role in purchasing power is played by controlling the growth of prices and utility tariffs. It is by these indicators that people usually evaluate the effectiveness of the measures taken by the state.

Accepting the Government's report for 2025, the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko instructed to continue strict control over prices and their fair formation. "The issue of inflation is extremely acute for people, and price lawlessness in our country is unacceptable," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized. "Control over prices must be strict, and their formation must be fair!"

For reference: An example of the socially oriented policy of the Belarusian state is the conclusion of an agreement by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus with a number of major trade organizations in the country to provide discounts on socially significant essential goods for vulnerable categories of the population.

Despite a significant surge in inflation at the beginning of the five-year period (speculative factors), its growth was successfully curbed by applying state price regulation measures, bringing it down to a range of 5–7%.

The assortment of goods and their availability are also under state control. Thanks to this, the situation in the consumer market remains stable, ensuring a sufficient assortment of goods at affordable prices.

Trade services and the availability of goods in rural areas are an important condition for comfortable life outside the city. A special role in this matter is assigned to Belcoopsoyuz—the largest trade operator in the country. Out of 4,100 stores in the system, 3,000 (73%) are located in rural areas.

In Belarus, even the smallest settlements are not left without attention. Here, mobile trade takes on the responsibility of caring for rural residents. The length of routes for mobile shops reaches up to 200 km. Their annual mileage exceeds 14 million km.

For reference: Service has been organized for 12.8 thousand rural localities, of which 80% (10.3 thousand) have fewer than 50 residents. More than 4.6 thousand localities are villages with fewer than 10 inhabitants. During the spring and summer period, approximately 1,100 horticultural associations and dacha cooperatives have been additionally included in the mobile store schedules.
