The Mogilev Region State Control Committee is conducting monitoring of the effectiveness of using improved lands and budget funds spent on their improvement.

Its results show that systematic work is being carried out on land reclamation in the region. In 2026, more than 5.0 thousand hectares of land have already been put into operation, including reconstruction of reclamation systems on 1.7 thousand hectares and cultural-technical works on 3.3 thousand hectares.

At the same time, cases of poor-quality implementation of reclamation works and overestimation of their volumes upon object commissioning have been identified by the Committee.

For example, in the Bykhovsky District at the "Grez" reclamation system near the village of Grodets of the Bykhovsky District, after carrying out cultural-technical reclamation on an area of 272.2 hectares, the Bykhov OJSC "PMK-85 Vostroy" did not remove wood residues from the treated area, nor were the banks of the reclamation channels cleared up. Similarly, in 2026, during cultural-technical works at the "Tronsa" reclamation system covering an area of about 20 hectares, no work was carried out to remove woody-shrub vegetation, tillage, and disc plowing of the plot, and at the "Ukhlyast" reclamation system of 55 hectares, planned disc plowing and tillage were not carried out. However, unperformed actual works were fully compensated by funds from the regional budget.
