The sustainable growth of the economies of Belarus and Russia is ensured, among other things, thanks to the integration of the two countries. This was stated by Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State, reports BelTA.
"The key vectors of Belarus-Russia integration are traditionally set by the heads of state. The commonality of their views and approaches to resolving problematic issues amid difficult external circumstances allows for the rapid implementation of joint plans at all levels of interaction — from government to regions and enterprises. In recent years, Belarus and Russia have proven that the Union State is not a declaration but a working mechanism that delivers real results in trade, industry, technology, and the social sphere," said Alexander Turchin.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Belarusian and Russian economies are intertwined as never before. "We lend each other a shoulder within the framework of industrial cooperation, jointly address issues of technological development, and ensure the saturation of the market with food and consumer goods. Despite ongoing pressure, the economies of Belarus and Russia are demonstrating a positive growth trajectory. Our close integration also deserves credit for this resilience. This year, mutual trade continues to set records. Over eight months of this year, trade turnover between Belarus and Russia increased by more than 20 percent. Particularly telling is the fact that we have achieved almost complete balance in the dynamics of mutual supplies. Mutual trade in services is growing at a high pace, with the traditional flagships being transport, construction, business and computer services," the Prime Minister noted.
As Alexander Turchin noted, in the first days of October the Belarusian capital is acting as an integration platform, hosting representative delegations from EAEU countries and participants of the INNOPROM. Belarus exhibition. Today, at the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State, it will be necessary to make decisions on a wide range of issues within the competence of the governments and to work out topics that are being submitted for consideration by the Supreme State Council of the Union State.
