In Belarus, among the leaders in terms of growth rates of gross value added in January-September are transport (104.8%), trade (104%), and agriculture (103.8%). This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.

As informed by the National Statistical Committee, according to the results of the nine months of this year, the GDP growth rate was 102%. Among the leaders in terms of growth rates of gross value added are transport (104.8%), trade (104%), and agriculture (103.8%). In the transport sector, high growth rates are demonstrated by passenger turnover and freight turnover, with increases of 7.6% and 2.9%, respectively.

The results in trade are due to the dynamics of retail trade turnover, which increased by 8.7% in January-September, which in turn was facilitated by the growth of real incomes of the population by 8.2% in January-August, as well as a low level of inflation (4.6% in annual terms). Wholesale trade also shows positive dynamics, with a growth rate of 100.2%.

In agriculture, the production growth rate for the nine months was 104.6%. Some slowdown compared to the previous month is due to the seasonal adjustment of the harvesting schedules for vegetable crops, silage, and sowing of winter crops. In agricultural organizations and farms, positive dynamics in crop production are mainly ensured by the growth of rapeseed harvesting (1.5 times) and the collection of fruits and berries (2.2 times), and in animal husbandry, by the increase in milk production and the growth of pig, poultry, and cattle farming.

The index of industrial production for January-September 2026 was 100.5%, increasing by 0.3 percentage points compared to January-August. At the same time, individual industries (energy, pharmaceuticals, food industry) showed even higher growth rates. There is a trend towards reducing inventory levels: as of October 1, 2026, inventory levels were 75.1% of the average monthly production volume, which is 5 percentage points lower than the level of the same period last year.

Over the nine months, more than 2.7 million square meters of housing were put into operation, including with state support - about 335 thousand square meters.

Investments in fixed capital increased by 2.1%. Enterprises continue to invest in their technological renewal and equipment acquisition, with a growth rate of 103.4%.

The export of goods and services (according to the methodology of the balance of payments) in January-August 2026 was 13.4% higher than the level of the same period in 2025. The growth of cooperation with countries of the far abroad continued: supplies of products to Asian countries are growing dynamically (1.4 times). The export of services is growing at a high rate: plus 23.3%. The main drivers are transport and tourism.

The sustainable operation of the economy makes it possible to ensure a high level of wages - over 2980 rubles in January-August 2026. The average old-age pension size exceeded the mark of 1060 rubles.
