October 9, the whole world celebrates World Post Day. And if for some it's just a date on the calendar, for the residents of the agro-town Antonovka in Chausky District, it's a wonderful reason to thank their postal worker. We spoke with Ekaterina Usikova, head of the postal communications department, about why modern post has become a center of attraction and how to find one's life's work.

— Of course, today, in the era of smartphones and messengers, there are fewer paper letters. But you know what remains unchanged? People's need for live communication and warmth, — says Ekaterina Mikhailovna with a smile.

This kind and incredibly energetic girl is known and loved in Antonovka. She does not just hand out parcels, pensions, or accept utility payments — she always listens, offers a kind word, and shares in the joy.

Ekaterina started working at the postal office in 2012. She recalls that period fondly:

— At first, of course, it was very nerve-wracking. But there were wonderful mentors and colleagues nearby who lent a helping hand. I pulled myself together, and… off I went! Today I know for sure: I'm in the right place.

The Antonovka postal office today has everything. Despite the fact that there is a local consumer cooperative store in the agro-town, the office enjoys great demand.

Ekaterina Mikhailovna notes that they manage to withstand competition with the local store thanks to customer orientation. At the post office, you can buy both food products and complex

In addition to working at the post office, Ekaterina Ushikova has already served two terms as a deputy of the rural council for the Antonovsky District. The girl is known and respected by locals, which is why they choose her candidacy. In this regard, work at the post office even helps, as communication with people allows you to learn who matters and what questions need attention, says an interviewee.

At home, Ekaterina is supported by her family. Her older daughter Polina is studying at the Bobruisk Medical College, but every weekend she is at home. Meanwhile, younger Dasha and Pasha take care of their children's affairs.

Ekaterina Ushikova has received a sufficient number of awards for her professional activities. The most valuable and highest among them – this year in May on Radio, Television and Communications Worker's Day, she was added to the Honor Board of the Mogulievsk branch of RUP "Belpota".

The statement "Find work that suits your soul and you won't have to work a single day in your life" is definitely about Ekaterina. Ekaterina became so passionate about her work that she decided to pursue specialized education. She successfully obtained her degree, graduating from the Vitebsk branch of "Belarusian State Academy of Communications".

Work should bring joy, then everything goes easily. I don't see myself in any other sphere, says Ekaterina. People inspire me, this constant activity, movement. Even thinking about leaving the post office one day is scary, she admits. It would be very difficult, because I sincerely love what I do.
