Tickets for buses and minibuses in Belarus will be combined: the Council of Ministers approved the creation of a unified state system.

Belarus is facing large-scale changes in the field of passenger transportation. The country's government has officially approved the operating procedure of the Unified State Information System for the sale of travel documents on regular bus routes. The corresponding decree of the Council of Ministers is aimed at full digitization and transparency of the passenger transport market.

A new large-scale digital platform is planned to be developed and launched in a short time — the project must be fully implemented by July 1, 2027.

What will change for passengers and carriers?

The main goal of creating the unified system is to bring order to the field of intercity and suburban travel, including popular private minibuses.

Implementation of the platform will allow solving several key tasks at once:

  • Convenience for passengers: tickets for any regular bus or minibus across the country will be purchasable in a "single window" (via a unified website or app), without the need to search for websites of individual private companies or to go only to bus station ticket offices.
  • Fair competition: the system will equalize the rights of state fleets and private carriers, making the distribution of passenger flow transparent.
  • Improvement of service quality: legal carriers will receive clear operating mechanisms, and the market will be cleared of gray schemes.

Bonus for aviation: simplification of control at airports

In addition to bus transportation, the government document also touches the sphere of civil aviation. The Belarusian Ministry of Transport and Communications has been authorized to adopt the National Program for Simplifying Formalities in International Air Transportation.

This program is intended to:

  • Significantly simplify and speed up control procedures for passengers, their baggage, and also for aircraft crews.
  • Optimize logistics at airports.
  • Reduce operational restrictions and administrative barriers faced by Belarusian airlines when performing international flights.

The innovations are intended to make both ground and air travel for Belarusians more comfortable and faster.
