The topic of the meeting was the Day of National Unity – a holiday that for many Belarusians has long ceased to be just a date on the calendar.

Director Galina Kravchenko noted that September 17 occupies a special place in the country's history. According to her, this day has become a symbol of restoring historical justice.

– This is a holiday for all Belarusians, – Galina Kravchenko emphasized. – It, like Victory Day or Independence Day, is a living link between times. It is not a celebration of the past, but a celebration of the present that we are building today with our own hands. It symbolizes the inviolability of borders and the ethnic cohesion of our nation.

The library director is convinced that such dates allow the preservation of national self‑awareness and the safeguarding of the nation.

Speaking about the country's achievements, Galina Kravchenko cited specific figures. Modern Belarus ranks among the top ten exporters of dairy products and in the top 15 for meat, fully self‑sufficient in food. She also highlighted intellectual potential: one third of the revenue of machine‑building enterprises comes from the sale of innovative products.

Breakthrough projects were not overlooked either. According to Galina Kravchenko, the Belarusian nuclear power plant has allowed the country to strengthen its energy independence and gain competitive advantages for decades to come.

– Both the nuclear plant, biotechnology, and space exploration – all of these are future‑oriented directions. All of this we have achieved – we are a country of workers and creators united by a common goal: to live on our land as one great family, – she summarized.

At the end of the conversation, Galina Kravchenko reminded that it is impossible to talk about a national state without preserving the historical memory of the victims and respecting those who gave their lives for a united and indivisible Belarus.

– Time itself has brought this date back into our calendar, and citizens have embraced the Day of National Unity, so to speak, with their hearts. This strengthens national solidarity so that Belarus will forever remain united and indivisible, – she added.
