In the construction industry, a month of safe labor has been declared, which will last until the end of October. Activities carried out within the framework of the monthly report are aimed at preserving workers' lives and health, as well as reducing and preventing industrial accidents.

During the month, representatives of the district administration and control-supervisory bodies will conduct an inspection of the occupational safety situation in the construction industry. Special attention will be paid to the organization of construction works, training and verification of workers' knowledge on occupational safety issues, provision of them with personal protective equipment, execution of high-dangerous work, proper documentation, sanitary-housing conditions on construction sites and other questions of ensuring safety. Attention will also be placed on how the workers themselves observe labor and production discipline. Methodological and practical assistance is provided to city construction organizations.

In the first 9 months of 2026, three workers in construction organizations of the Goretsky district already suffered injuries. Analysis of the circumstances and causes of the occurred accidents shows that a large part of them is still linked to personal reasons, caused by: personal carelessness of the victims, failure to comply with occupational safety instructions, violations of labor and executive discipline.

It should be noted that managers of construction organizations must ensure the presence of video surveillance at all construction sites. Along with all requirements for organizing work, common violations should be eliminated:

• not installation of protective barriers for height differences;
• violations of safety requirements when operating ladders, scaffolds, platforms for climbing to heights;
• violations of safety requirements when operating production equipment and storing construction materials;
• non-use of personal protective equipment by workers;
• violations of electrical safety requirements on construction sites;
• violations during operation of construction machines and mechanisms.

We believe that a comprehensive set of measures applied jointly by various services will reduce the risks of industrial accidents on construction sites and save the lives and health of workers.
