This year, 53 young specialists arrived at organizations, institutions, and enterprises in the Glusky district; all of them have already started working, are settling into their work teams, establishing themselves in new places, and arranging their daily lives.

How the transition from student or pupil status to that of an independent worker takes place, how senior colleagues and management received the new recruits, and what state support recent university and college graduates can expect—these and many other topics were discussed on September 11 at a meeting between the chairman of the Glusky district executive committee, Alexey Zhuravlev, and the young specialists.

The event began inside the district historical and local history museum. There, the youth were given a tour, introduced to the district’s history, and in the exhibition hall they viewed the collection of radio equipment titled “From the Phonograph to the Tape Recorder”; the owner of the collection, Albert Volkov, explained the exhibits and demonstrated them in action.

Afterwards, in the district executive committee, the district head Alexey Zhuravlev met and spoke with the young specialists.

“I want you to understand: you came to work, not to be evaluated,” he said, addressing the youth. “You are already adults, independent workers, specialists—you must understand this. Today all conditions are being created for you; the state provides various benefits for young specialists. Ask, approach, and they will help you, advise you. But remember your responsibility, your duties. Even if you do not plan to stay here longer, still perform your allotted time diligently, do your job well,” the chairman of the district executive committee advised the young specialists.

The meeting was also attended by the chairman of the district Council of Deputies Roman Tychina and the deputy chairman of the district executive committee Anatoly Lasotsky.

The priority provision of rental housing, preferential credit for purchasing goods, additional payments, opportunities to showcase themselves in youth initiatives and projects, and conditions for rest and sports activities were explained to the young specialists by the head of the department of housing and utilities, architecture and construction of the district executive committee Evgenia Grigoryeva, the head of the department of labor, employment and social protection Elena Kirey, the chief specialist of the Belarusbank Branch 707 Olga Kashko, the first secretary of the BRSM district committee Anna Martynova, the chief specialist of the district executive committee on sports issues Igor Suschenya, and the head of the culture sector Alina Khlistunova.

We confirmed that the young people who came to work with us are serious, find understanding and support from seniors, and are not afraid of difficulties, by speaking with the guys and girls during the meeting.

Mikhail Alyokhna, instructor-methodologist of FSK:

They welcomed me well in the team, helped me get a dormitory, and the director helps a lot with work. I'm getting involved, getting used to it, something is working out, and interest has arisen.

Kirill Gromyko, basketball coach-teacher at the Youth Sports School:

I'm recruiting a group of boys from grades 2–4, need 20 people, 16 already exist, I train the older boys who have already played basketball. There is understanding with them. The team is also good, they know me here because I myself was a student of our sports school.

Nikita Kiselevich, physical education teacher at

— My profession's mentors taught me, and now I'm getting hands-on experience, doing some things on my own, and still asking for help with others. I received a lot of help and guidance from Pavel Gennadievich Mironov, the assistant forester at the Kirovsky forestry, during my internship, and I'm very grateful to him. Currently, my mentor is the chief forester Alexander Vladimirovich Porsik, who is also always ready to show and teach me.

Andrey Ivanov, bricklayer at PMK-249:

— I don't have any problems in my daily life, I'm a local, I live at home. My work is also going well, without any major difficulties, of course, but I'm getting used to it, and I've already worked on two projects: a residential building on Gagarin Street and a farm in Dubrovo.

Daniil Novikov, mechanic for the repair and maintenance of milking equipment at OAO Glusky-AGRO:

— There are always difficulties at work, especially when you're just starting out, but I'm trying my best, doing what I can, and learning as I go. My living situation has been settled for a long time, I live at home.

Alesia Rylenko, head of the Balashevichsky FAP:

— I'm from Bobruisk myself, I live in an apartment in Glusk, which is a more convenient option for me, especially since part of the rent is compensated. At work, I'm trying to get familiar with everything, I'm doing my best, but I also ask my senior colleagues for advice, and they help me, the local people are also understanding and kind. The working conditions are good, the FAP has everything we need.

Darya Galenza, head of the Dokolsky FAP:

— Of course, it was intimidating to start working independently at the FAP. Mainly because I didn't know the people, but Natalya Nikolaevna Dolbik, who worked here before me, came by, left her phone number, and told me to reach out if I needed anything. Other people are also helping me, including the nurse (who went with me on calls), and even the mailman: they're giving me tips, telling me where people live, how to find them, and helping me get settled. The FAP itself is very good, well-equipped, and has the necessary equipment. I also like Glusk, I'm from the Gomel region, from a similar urban settlement, so the conditions and pace of life are roughly the same as at home. I'm renting a place to live.

Viktoriya Zizikо, plasterer at PMK-249:

I work in Svetlana Kiseleva's crew, now we're busy building a farm in Dubrov, we've already worked on a residential house in Glusk. Of course, until everything comes together on the first try, sometimes they say something needs to be redone — I redo it, without complaint
