A leasing company has revealed the most popular car models that Belarusians prefer to lease. As it turned out, the top spots are held by European brands.

“We see that leasing is increasingly being considered for purchasing a used car. A wide variety of vehicles are in demand: popular models for everyday trips, Chinese cars, European brands, and premium cars,” the company Wigo said. Based on completed transactions, a top 5 list of models popular with clients was compiled:

• Volkswagen Passat
• Opel Astra
• Renault Megane Scenic
• Opel Vectra
• BMW X5

Also named among the popular models were the Volkswagen Golf, Ford Mondeo, Mazda 6, BMW 5-Series, and Volkswagen Touareg.

The company said that clients typically choose cars priced at 30,000–50,000 rubles, with the limiting factor being the maximum price (no more than 70,000 rubles), but not the age of the car. For example, with a car price of 17,432 rubles, the monthly payment is about 558 rubles, while with a price of 45,307 rubles, it is 1,588 rubles per month. However, the payment amount depends on the financing terms, the term (12–72 months), and the down payment (from 15%, but in some cases it can be arranged without an advance).
