The incident occurred in Vitebsk. A man bought a Lexus SUV in the United States. After the vehicle arrived in Belarus and underwent body repair, the part with the factory marking was replaced with an unmarked one, and the body's VIN number was lost.

When registering the vehicle with the GAI, an officer noticed the lack of marking in the standard location and sent the car for inspection, reports the GKSE.

The examination confirmed the absence of the primary marking, but thanks to the study of additional sources of information, specialists were able to identify the vehicle. This served as the basis for registering it.
